What is the usage for the "other" bundle?

Either will be OK as a home server setup, I'd probably pick the one with the most SATA ports for future expansion of storage. I personally have a Celeron G550 with 4GB memory, and it copes fine with what I throw at it (MySQL, XBMC, and a load of applications for automation of various tasks)
 
Both bundles were bought for use in work (nothing exciting just office stuff).

Would the quad core of the AMD be of more use than the dual core Intel?

I would think the 4GB AMD bundle vs 8GB Intel probably isn't an issue for serving duties?
 
As said above, for a NAS (which i assume this is) the CPU doesn't need to be heavy duty atall..

Either one will do fine, the more SATA ports (SATAIII) the better.
