Which of these monster coolers

I iz a traitor :(... and just one TY-140/147/Scythe GT/Akasa Piranha @1000rpm does very well on a K2.

OP, they're all great coolers and all very close in performance, so as long as it clears your ram and fits in your case, buy whichever looks the prettiest :)

I think I will just base it on whichever i can get cheapest as my new case wont have a window anyway :o

Hi, I'm looking to get a new cooler soon and was wondering which of the following is the best option.

Alpenfohn K2 Mount Doom
Prolimatech Megahalems Black
Dark Rock Pro 2
Thermalright Silver-Arrow SB-E
Phantek PH-TC14PE
or a Noctua DH14 (if I can find one cheap enough)

I have Corsair XMS3 so RAM clearance wont be an issue :)
Thanks :)

Hi what case cooling do you have in place ??

do you have side fans and roof fans installed ?

I currently have a Bitfenix merc alpha but have ordered a Fractal Define XL R2.
I wont be using any side fans but will occupy the rear and one of the top fan slots.

the case comes with three Fractal R2 fans but I will be using them for intake with 2 at the front and 1 at the bottom and i will be buying 2 extra fans to use as an exhaust.

Yeah, I will be connecting the 3 stock fans to the integrated fan controller and the CPU fans and exhaust fans to a PWM splitter :)

Maybe have Tealc make you a PWM adapter and you could run all your fans with CPU fan PWM signal. ??? Just a thought.

With PWM fans yes. Doesn't the case come with Silent Series R2 fans? Last I knew they were not PWM fans.. I assumed you were going to run them with the case controller and I'm suggesting a Tealc PWM adapter so you can run them with the back and cooler fans.

Yeah that was the idea.
I was just thinking of of running the fans at 7V :)
Just curious, how much does one of those adapter cost anyway?

thanks for that :)
i shall look into it in the future if my current plan doesnt turn out good but for now, i think i will focus on the heatsink and the exhaust fans :)
