Hi All I,m after some advice about 2 makes of t.v which of these models would you say are the better picture quality ,i,m not worried about the 3d part ?

Samsung UE37D6530 or

LG 32LM620T

Get a sony they are better than samsung... They have much better motion

Also the motion on LG is RUBBISH... It looks completely unrealistic.. Worst I have ever seen = LG

Out of those 2 though definately the Samsung if you cannot get a Sony instead

Sony are overpriced and aren't particularly competitive in terms of what they offer.

I personally don't have issues with high end LG tvs (but then you may as well buy a samsung?). However, for midrange and high end Samsung do have the edge over them in my personal opinion.

Ultimately though , go and look at it, have a feel of the UI, is it something you can live with? If it does what YOU need it to - go for it. Sure on paper there may be differences, but not everyone cares about it.

Well the 2012 models are not so great but the 2011 models are some of the best LCD ever made...

I have owned Samsung D6530 and D7000 as well as LG, Toshiba, Samsung plasma, etc etc. and this Sony HX723 is by far the best out of all of them... Also it cost me £600 whcih is amazing value... Problem is you cannot get these anymore...

I think Sony are very under-rated.... The motion handling is FAR better than Samsung and the quality control is a lot better as well... Samsung are simply better marketed and have flashy bezels.... They are not actually better TV's... Infact most of the 2011 panels use the same Sony/Samsung SPVA panels for Sony and Samsung high end TV's. Samsung = dodgy QC, backlight bleed etc. and slightly unrealistic motion handling.

Thanks for the feedback ,and yeah i always feel most T.V ,s are pretty much the same and its all about how you set them up colour , contrast , brightness etc :) and from the old Ray Tube T.V,s its miles better in every make and model ,i feel a lot of makes will have good reviews and bad reviews :) some people will like Sony L.G, Samsung and some won,t ,but it doesn,t mean all are bad :)

i used to have a d6530 when it was advertised as full hd 3d but in the end got samsung to scrap the tv and give me a refund as its not full hd 3d and imo if u getting a 3d tv whats the point unless its full hd ?

Go by the actual TV, not brand. I have a toshiba 32" that I recently bought for about £330. It's far, far better than the competitors at the same price. Backed up by reviews on the net hailing it as having picture quality that far outstrips it's price :)

What Toshiba do you have?

I've got a 4-5 year old Regza 32inch 1080p tv, and the heat it gives out is incredble.

I'm looking for something new that doesn't have such a high heat output, my room is like a furnace with it on.

If you get an LED tv then they have literally no heat output at all... I can leavy my Sony LED on for 10 hours and it is still cold to the touch.... The reason yours puts out heat is the CCFL backlight.... Get an LED TV and they will not put out any heat at all... Also Plasma are even worse than what you currently have.... Similar to having another radiator in your room putting out 300w of heat.

I,m begining to think that in todays climate a lot of people think price first ,and then size make seems to be last ,and its going to be 1 of about 4 makes Sony ,Samsung ,LG & Panny anyway who really is going to spend £1.000 on a T.V unless your money tree is full :)

bit of info from across the pong on the Samsung 3d issues.

After months of court action, in August 2012 Samsung finally signed the cease-and-desist order of the German consumer board VZBV:

Samsung promises not to advertise TV devices with a resolution of 1920x1080 and 3D technology without mentioning any resolution loss in 3D mode.

What is important: Samsung kept secret about the 3D resolution losses in all marketing material and data sheets, so that customers did not know about this ahead of a purchase. With Samsung signing the cease-and-desist order to stop such deceptive advertising, ALL German D6 customers without proven knowledge of the 3D resolution losses at the point of purchase can now reclaim a D6 repair, replacement or refund, no matter when the purchase did happen. In Germany, customers have to approach their retailers individually for this (because Germany does not have class actions as in other countries). Retailers in return can hold Samsung accountable for a compensation of their losses. So finally, at least in Germany the case is now legally clear in favour of the affected customers, and Samsung can no longer just sit this out.
