Which One do I go for !!!!!!

its preportional to stock speeds surely

6600@ 2.4 ghz......to 3.6ghz= 1.2ghz overclock

6400@ 2.1ghz to 3.8ghz = 1.7ghz overclock

Plus higher FSB needed ,meaning more tweaking.

Its harder getting bigger clocks with lower multis :D

this is fun :D

Not really as the higher stock the cpu is the gain in overclock % will be lower, its almost always been this way as it comes down to speed binning and basic math. All cpus begin to plateau at some point otherwise there would be no limit.

i had the 6700 and the X6800, now i just went to E6600 (sales rep hated me for all the returns) and the best of the 3 would be the E6600, for the price its at its truely mind boggling. Dare i say this, but at 3.6ghz, there is no difference between the X6800 and the E6600 lol.

and at that price, you will be laughing mate, shouldnt really be thinking twice about it.

ok didnt read the other post but how many ppl really RMA a CPU?

CPU never really fail unless u fly it by Overlocking too much and increased vcore.

so get the OEM

At the same speed, there should be no difference whatsoever between them, unless the faster fsb speed the 6600 will be running at would give an advantage ;)

hi people, i finally went for a 6400 oem @ £115inc. vat, save some money for the ram.

stepping: L629B282

Has anyone got these "B" steppings ? How do they overclock on air ?
