is this... " Asus VE228H 22" Widescreen LED Multimedia Monitor - Black "
as good as ... " Asus VG236HE 23" TRUE 120Hz 3D Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black "

Is it worth the extra money? I wont be going 3d for a little while if I do get the 3d , its a nice feature to have thoe for future options.

Picture wise for gaming , which is best?
Thanks!

EDIT : the only reason I ask is because I thought LED was better than LCD .

EDIT: just read that link , so LEDs are better all around , but the LCD tv has 120hz . so does this make up for it?

I don't think it make up for it. Though the LCD TV is 3D ready. If 3D is important to you, either now or in the future go for it.

Im not a big fan of 3d so, id pick an LED monitor. It's just what you think you will need. Won't go wrong with either.

Will the picture be noticeably worse with the 3d LCD ? compared to the LED? as I cant afford an LED 3D monitor . Ive never had 3d gaming so its not mega important , my graphics card supports 3d thoe , but I guess I can just get another monitor in a couple of years if I fancy 3d .

The 'LED' in the product name refers to how the screen is backlit. The actual panel technology in both screens are the same (LCD).

Both screens will perform similarly, the difference is in the contrast, brightness levels, and power consumption. All of which are personal preference really (I found my LED backlit monitor glaringly bright, I had to turn the brightness down to 0 to comfortably use it).

EDIT: Basically what I'm getting at is I wouldn't let the omission of a LED backlight prevent you from getting a more feature rich standard LCD screen if you think 3D is something you will make use of.
