Hey guys,

So been building an "ok" pc latley here are my current specs:

Intel Core i5-4570
Gigabyte GA-H87-HD3
Team Group Vulcan 8GB 1600mhz
Antec High Current Gamer M HCG-620M
Corsair Graphite Serie 600T
1TB HD
80GB Intel something SSD

all I need now is a good graphics card that I can play on. (1080p)
Main use is gaming, any suggestions on what I should get in the 250/270pounds range?

don't mind if it is red or green just prefer that is factory boosted since I'm not going to overclock it myself

I would normally be spamming 280x recomendations, but with mining pumping up those prices, best option would be a 290 pro for a bit more cash. The extra Vram will help in the long run.

I rly can't stretch my budget that far since I have to think about shipping to.
Would a Gtx770 be worth buying since they are in my price range or should I just wait for the 280X prices to go down?

There are still 280x's in your price range and they will outlast the 770's in Vram. the lower end of the price range of 280x's Havant seen all that much of a price rise, so if you are okay with one of those, you might as well grab it now. If you don't mind waiting a bit, i imagine the 280x prices will drop with 290 prices as they are both used for mining.

Have you got a time frame for when you want your GPU?

If that is the case, wait till january till order. Stocks will be very low when you get paid and delivery will be delayed till after boxing day at the earliest, so its not like you gain anything from ordering right away.

Mining difficulty increases might put of many new miners off, id imagine and prices will start to fall. You might even be able to net cards recently bought by miners for cheap too!

Only time will tell on this one. Also selling games which come with the 290, might put it in budget, dont know what is currently being offered with new cards.

The ASUS 280X on This Week Only looks a good buy to me, considering current 280x prices:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus Radeon R9 280X DirectCUII TOP 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £263.99
Total : £273.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

And some good 770 offers, too, particularly considering they come with three free games:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 WindForce 3x OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-N770OC-2GD) £263.99
1 x Inno3D GeForce GTX 770 iChill HerculeZ X3 Ultra 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (C770-3SDN-E5DSX) £263.99
Total : £537.58 (includes shipping : £8.00).

EDIT: Just seen your post above. Ignore if you can't buy while they're on offer (until next Wednesday morning) -.-

Looked around and I stuck my head with either

Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X 28XOC-3GD 3GB GDDR5

or

Gigabyte GeForce GTX770 2GB GDDR5

which is ideal for me since I only do play on 1080p and not overclocking it
