Between the:

Akasa Eclipse 62 Aluminium Case & Window - £96.23

or

Antec P180 Advanced Super Midi Tower Case - £84.54

It will house a Conroe based system with an X1900XT, I was originally looking to get the P180, but now the Eclipse is starting to hook me. Which one would you buy?

The P180 requires abit more fiddling (not a lot, just the length of cables, coz the of the layout), with a door that many might not like and it looks like a fridge.

The Eclipse needs fans (more cost, but allow for customability), it cost more and it's got a plastic front that makes the case feel, cheap.

Personally, I'd go with the P180, in Black (most un-fridge like) and get longer cables IF it is indeed too short - not in all cases.

I would take the Eclipse, better cooler, better built.

Its got a plastic front, but with some akasa ambers it has the potential to be a very good cooler at very low volumes.

I would take the Eclipse every time personally, I don't usually like doors either.

Both are really good cases and there is not much between them, but the Eclipse is more standard and I think offers the better value between the two as it will handle future rigs with no issues, and as it is 100% ATX spec compliant there wont be any issues with compatability for a long time yet.

At last check it does not.

*Someone who has gotten the Eclipse does it come with fans then, I have only ever purchased the Savrow myself and that did not.

*Tut tut* very un yewen like.

120 x 25mm fans front & rear

Can get a side panel with a 120mm fan. I like the look of the case. Metal front would be an improvement but it is still a very nice case as it is. I'd get one over the P180 - too plain for my liking.

I presume that means it has the fans as it doesn't have them as optional? Although i don't have first hand experience so i may be corrected.

That's what everyone is using - and the're pretty good. I like the higher cfm YS-Tech fans 7-volted as they move a lot more air and they are not a lot louder. But the Ambers are an excellent choice.

I have the Akasa Eclipse and its the best cooling case on the market IMO.

has my overclocked opty housed great on silent air.
If you get one get the window too.

great case

I would take the ambers personally, WJA96 the YStech.

Depends how much noise bothers you but the ambers do offer the best middle ground solution I find.

Personally i'd go for the P180, gorgeous case, a little fiddly but worth it bar far! :)

my mate has a p180 and when he saw my akasa he wishe he could have swapped over.

The pictures of the eclipse dont look that excirting but when you see it it the flesh with the shiny mobo tray and the size and room inside no other case comes close.

That's what put me off at first, it looks so dull on the Akasa Cases page, but then I looked around for pictures and reviews, it looks seriously sexay.

Some do!

Lots of cases beat it in one are or another but very few beat it at everything, the front panel of the Eclipse is my pet hate, ace case otherwise.
