It's very difficult to answer that sort of question. =/ Best way is to conduct some research yourself for a more informed choice.

You've not even mentioned what range and budget you're considering??? High-End? Mid-Range? Low-End?

I'm not going to write a review for either cards... but here's some recommendations.

For Nvidia high-range card: 7900GT/7900GTX
For ATI high-range card: X1900XT/X1900XT-X

Mid-High range cards include the Nvidia 7800 series cards and the X1800s by ATI.
