Which one ?

The way the Intel Sandy Bridge CPU's work they have a lot more power per core, so a dual core i3 will outperform a quad core AMD in most scenarios, and a quad core i5 or i7 will outperform a 6 or 8 core AMD.

The specs above are quite good, if you're not into overclocking you could save quite a bit by going for something like this.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-2400 3.10GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £154.99
1 x MSI H61M-E33 Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard **B3 REVISION** £46.99
1 x Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00CEU) £35.99
Total : £249.37 (includes shipping : £9.50).

But as Overclocking the K series CPU's is so easy, plus the extra features Z68 motherboards have I'd suggest this

ahh seems i was reading them wrong then haha

so the i5 is better than a AMD 6 core, will it always be like that ? what with games and apps using more cores now and in the future, i dont wanna buy these parts and in 2 years time have to upgrade again wanna get my moneys worth from them.

i5 is the best chip to get IMO. Even if apps use more cores, the i5 still has 4 very good ones. I imagine it'll last a good long while yet. The Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 was released beginning of 2007, and people still use them today. The i5 is like a modern equivalent so you should get several years use no problem :)

EDIT: forgot to say anything about the case. That Coolermaster one is a good one, but it really is personal choice. Pick one you like :) You don't have to spend that much. e.g.

I like the sound of that, is that the general consensus then will it last at least 4 years ?

i5 it is then, was looking at this board for it for its simplistic way of overclocking (being that i am a total noob at that, heck i dont think i have ever tried to do it) http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-054-AK&tool=3 rather expensive though.

I wouldnt touch gigabyte (bad experiences with them, refuse to buy anymore of there products)

Much better board and proven to be an amazing overclocker....

I'm sorry, to me it looks like they are basically the same! So why not go for one with more features?

The same? The Sabertooth is clearly the better motherboard....

P67 has and always has been known as the gamer chipset where as the Z68 is the all round chipset...

You look at all the ultra high end entusiast 1155 motherboards they're nearly all based on the P67 chipset.
