I should have said in my opinion. I would have rather had Windows 98 than 64bit XP it sucked so bad when I had it.

Agreed, you'd see no advantage using Pro unless you have a really sophisticated home network.

Stick with XP Home.

Does home even support basic networking?

Tbh windows media centre edition is best. It has all the features of pro except the network with a domain feature and costs the same as home.

Home has all the networking that Pro has except joining domains. You can still belong to a workgroup which is all a home network needs.

A pretty front end to your media and some dancing people. Only useful if you have a TV to output to imo.
