Which out of these 2 Hard drives ?

Which one should i get its just for storage cant decide between them

Samsung SpinPoint F4 EcoGreen 2TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD204UI)

Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA-II 64MB Cache - OEM (WD20EARS)

Neither is bad, their performance is generally similar. I have 2 of each and the only difference I can see is that one of the Samsungs is slightly noisier (spin noise rather than accessing) than the other three disks. I would say this is an anomaly though.

Thanks its just that a few people seem to have a few probs with the samsungs which is the one i normally go for.

There was an issue with the early release drives which has been resolved with a firmware upgrade, I have one in my server and can't fault it. I would have thought that any drive you buy now will already have the newer firmware on it.

I don't think you'll be disapointed with either drive so personally I'd get which ever you can find for the cheapest price speed as has been said in the real world is practically the same.

I would personally get the:

Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB SATA-II 64MB Cache

The F4 i found to be a little noisy a humming on/off sound,but ive found the F1 and F3s do this, apparently its the motor Samsung use.

WD RMA/Warranty is second to none and are extremely quiet.
