As the topic, what do people rate as the best brand of DDR2 at the moment?

In the past when building PCs I have always gone for Corsair, out of habit and because they always seem to have been good for me

But since I'm changing to C2D very soon I will need new RAM and mobo, so which brand do people recommend as the best to go for and why?

id choose from

GSKILL 6400 kit CAS 4 £120~
Geil Ultra LCC 6400 kit £117
OCZ Plat XTC rev2 kit £117
Crucial Ballistix Pc5300 kit £130

all going to be very capable performers.

lol....thanks for a list of the DDR2 ram available...I know these are the ones that there are, now I'm curious as to which one is better in peoples opinion and why, what problems have people had with specific hardware with them etc

I'm in pretty much the same position and after much reading around on the net I think I'm going to go with the Crucial Ballistix. I'm curious how ever if its worth the extra £30 to the the 6400. I've heard of the 5300 getting to 900 mgz, so shall I just spend that £30 on silent hunter 4? :)

And sorry Musser for nicking your thread, it's all basically the same stuff isn't it?

I'd go as far as to say it's the exact same stuff.

Processors have different miltis in different bins that are locked. Ram doesn't have timings or speeds locks. Hence buying the Ballistix PC5400 is exactly the same stuff as PC6400 told to go slower, a E6300 is not the same as an E6400 as you can never get the multi the same.
