As the title says, I've decided to upgrade my psu and don't want to spend over £100. I've had my current PSU (in sig) for 2½ years, so I want to get something that will happily see out 2-3 years. For this reason, I'm thinking 700W and above, modular, with 4 pci-e 6/8 pin cables. Quiet would also be good!

I have the 650 Modular version of that Corsair and I can't hear it at all. Noise is huge factor for me too :)

edit - the only complaint I have is that the modular cables given do feel quite cheap but I've had no problems with them so far.

How about the new BZ series from Tagan? at least the RMA is based in the UK - thats a major selling point for Tagan for me.

I'm thinking of going for the Tagan 700W Modular BZ later in the year when I upgrade to the P45 chipset.

This looks promising..... I'll have a look for some reviews on this. I know that Tagan are good, as my current EasyCon 530W has been rock solid. Only reason I'm replacing is so that mine can go in my son's PC (who am I kidding, I just like spending money on my PC :))

Aye same here :) I've had 480W & now 580W versions of Tagan over the last 6+ years without problems but of course like I said any PSU can go wrong no matter what brand it is, I just like the peace of mind that if anything does go wrong it goes to Nanopoint in the UK, I dont have to ship the PSU to Germany or USA or anywhere else which would take longer & also cost a lot in postage expenses.

Preferably I will go for a PSU with a fan that is 135mm or 140mm - more chance of it being quieter.

Does anyone know of other brands of PSU that offer UK RMA? I think BFG does but their PSU's are not anything special.

Just read the specs of the Tagan, and it only has two pci-e connectors. i know it doesn't really matter, cause I'm not likely to need the extra two, but looking at the specs of others around this price, you usually get four.

What does averyone think of the Seasonic M12 Modular 700W Silent??

Aye you woudnt be able to run 2 8800GTX for example, although the Tagan 800W BZ does have 4 PCI-E connectors.

120mm & 60mm fan, from the reviews I read it's not the quietest PSU.

Aarrggh too many to choose from! I think I'll mull this one over until next week. Oh well, I'll just get a new 750GB Samsung F1 tomorrow instead :) That'll keep me busy for a bit anyway :D

Edit - Just looked at the Tagan 800W BZ and it looks like it's worth considering. Costs a bit more, but it would last for a good 2-3 years I'd think.
