Which PSU to use with this i5 build?

Hi all,

Would a 460W psu be able to run the build that hotwired reccommends in this thread? (a third the way down the page)

I only ask because a friend's offered a nearly brand new psu to me and wanted reassurance that it was powerful enough to run that spec since i'm looking to build something near identical.

The PSU Calculator says yes. If the one you're being offered is a good quality one from a reputable manufacturer then it might be worth considering, but personally I would feel more comfortable with something more like the one hotwired recommended.

Thanks for the reply CBJ, it's a coolmaster extreme psu if that helps.

Would really help my build budget if I could use it so any other reassurance would be brill.

Extreme Power Plus?
It's 400W PSU at most, 350W would be more safer rating.
