Which PSU?

My Hiper Type-R 580W PSU has just died on me and since I can't claim the warranty, I was wondering what would be a sufficient PSU for my system? I'd rather not go for the same PSU as it was too large for my midi tower.

System Specs:

Midi Tower / M-ATX mobo
3Ghz P4
ATI 850XL Radeon graphics card
2 x EIDE hdd's (120GB and 250GB)
Geil 2GB (2x1GB) DDR PC3200 RAM
Audigy 2 ZS sound card

I'm not looking for anything special as long as it does the job.

Thanks for any help.

Due to lower power usage of your system you could maybe look at getting something like an Akasa PaxPower 400w Silent PSU. Plus it'll leave you wish some headroom for upgrading should you choose to keep the same PSU. I would however look at whether this PSU has a 20 and 24 pin ATX power lead, I'm thinking that your motherboard is going to be a 20 pin and I cannot find details in the description to say if it has both.

[EDIT]: Nevermind, had a quick look further into the description and it states that this PSU comes with a 20 pin adaptor, presumably converting it from a 24 pin so you have both.

Thanks again flibby! The full specs of my system are located here - obviously, I've updated the memory, graphics card, added a 2nd hdd and replaced the sound card with the above. Can you confirm that 400W will be enough for this?

Cheers

Yep, can confirm that power supply will easily be enough for your system, and probably for an upgrade or two later on, depending on what type of graphics card you picked.

For instance that PSU can handle a x1950 Pro 512MB / core 2 duo system no problem at all, but it would be insufficient for something like a core 2 with a 8800 GTS/GTX or 2900 Pro/XT.
