Which PSUs have the 8-Pin PCI-E Connector?

What spec are you looking to power first? THe corsair 520w seems to power everything up to a single GTX and seems to be what everyone says to get. That comes with a 6 and 6+2 to make a 6pin and 8pin

Yes that is playing on my mind. I am going to be getting one in about 3/4 weeks. Do you think its temperary batch? i cant aford to loss 1k of equipment instantly. And tbh you must be able to take them to court or somthing over that. Especialy if lots of them are blowing up and they are making faulty batchs.

Or perhaps i can just rma everything if that happens lol.

iv bought 2 corsairs now, a 520 and 620unit, although they are working for now but i am a bit worried about them. and the corsairs replaced 2 hipers, a 580w and a 480w hiper which were both running and the reason i changed to the corsair was for peace of mind hoping they would be more reliable.

now im wondering if i shoudl replace the corsairs with some enermax units just to be on the safe side. if i was going to buy another psu again, it would not be corsair id stick with the 2 main psu brands, seasonic and enermax.

Then everyone will go for the Enermax and they will probably start dropping like flies, lol.

All fun and games, i am happy with my 480W Antec Neopower, had it a good few years and still going strong.

Though not powering a particularly power hungry rig tbh

the only thing that stopped me from getting a enermax galaxy 850w unit was that they got dodgey reviews from jonnyguru and hardocp, something about dodgey 3.3v rail. if that was working fine i would be using a galaxy psu right now.

I would have thougth the fact that you could run your pc in your spec off 420w corsair would be enough of a reason not to get a 850w psu lol. Or am i msising the 10 hidden hdds? lol.

nop, just got 2 hard drives in the pc thats all, although my server now uses my old enermax psu which iv had now for 5 years and its still going strong.

still i would have bought the 850 just for added reliability, even the hx620 is plenty for me, but when i bought it the 450w vx series was not around then, and i got the 620 for 70 quid brand new from local pc show which has special offer on so i thought i may as well get it. hopefully i get no problems with the corsair psus i have, but from reports from others now it really has got me worried.
and seeing how corsair have now switched to CWT for thier new range of psus i wonder if corsair are now trying to cut some costs in production.
