Need to get a new set of boots. Only really need them on the front, the rears still have a few months in them. But having trouble finding the same set anywhere so might decide to do all 4. Currently on R15 205/55 V88 BFGoodrich Profiler G, like to get something of around the same type and size. Any suggestions.

The best all rounders would either be Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 or Toyo Proxes T1-R, IMO. I prefer the Toyos myself due to the stiffer sidewall and the lower price. Apparently the F1's perform better in the wet but I couldn't really notice the difference, both are excellent tyres for the money.

Michelin Pilot Exalto 2. Absolutely cracking tyre, but slightly dearer than the two Scuzi mentioned (£78.60 on mytyres comapred to £45.80 for the Proxies).

A mid range tyre for more than a budget high end tyre. Yea, makes sense :p

Toyo's for me over the Exalto's..

Depend what you want them for :)

The Exaltos are proven to be very good, plus they last pretty well compared to Proxies which, from friends who have had them, have always wore out pretty quickly. But they are suited to smaller hot hatch type cars and I don't know what the OP has.

As for being mid range one site describes them as "entry level Ultra High Performance Summer tire designed to raise both the status and performance of small sporty cars that use low profile-sized tires"

Either way, yes I'd rather have the very good "mid range" Michelin than the "budget high end" Toyos as people I know who have had both have said they prefer them, plus I've been using th Exaltos for 2 years and no complaints yet, will see after some track time though
