Cheers again, is there any point runnig my memory faster than my cpu eg

CPU 250x10 = 2500mhz
Memory 3.5v 260mhz?

Or is it best to run the memory at 250mhz, which it will at 3.4v?

If you can, try to keep the vdimm as low as possible. That way you may get away without using the 4v jumper. You may also find that you might not need to put 3.4v through it anyway. If your ram will run at 277htt(doubtfull)then you could run at 277x9.

I will try to keep the vdimm as low as possible but it states that it needs betwwen 3.4-3.5v to run at ddr500. :(

So what is the best way to get it to reach ddr500 without upping the voltage?

If you slacken the timings you should get to DDR500 with less voltage

There isn't any benefit to running the memory faster either

Yeah that is what i thought, so if i change the timings of the memory first and see how it clocks before putting high vdimm through it is the best way?

That's how I'd do it

If that fails just set all the setting back to standard and put the higher vdimm through it without having to mess about much with the timings etc?

Yep

Just increase it slowly to find the point where it's stable

So if the slacker timimngs/lower vdimm didn't work and i set all back to default to run the higher vdimm, were would i start 3.2v or is that too high?

Until you'r up and running you won't know for sure what vdimm you will need. The rated vdimm is a guide, it's not set in stone. But experience with BH5 in an NF2 tells me to start at 3.1v and raise fsb until it fails test5 in Memtest, then back off 3 or 5 then hammer it in test 5 for as many hours as you can stand(5 to 8hrs). Then up it again until it fails test5, and keep repeating until the only way to get it to pass is to up the vdimm. Then start the same prossess again. It takes a long time, but you do end up with the highest fsb possible at the lowest vdimm.

Yeah cheers for the help, makes me glad the mobo has mem test built in, like i said i dont want to clock to the maximum as i would like it to be reliable and stable, just have to see how the cpu will clock as i feel that will be the limiting factor, well either that or my bravery. :D

Bravery dos'nt come into it, just ramp it up 'till it screams for mercy :D

That requires bravery lol will be happy with 2.5-2.6ghz but i think that may be overoptomistic. :(
