Which sata2 hard drives? Quiet!!!

Had my raptors out on my desk all today - whizzing and clanking away... starting to drive me crazy.

I really want some quiet hard drives to go with my updated quiet system, heh - the system itself is sitting next to me and all I can hear is the sound of the air moving + raptors lol

So... which are the quietest sata2 hard drives?

And then which are the best performing sata2 hdds?

I'm looking at getting 4-5 for raid

Yeah...

I've seen plenty of performance reviews though (none of which mention noise!!! ffs) and the Samsun drives always come out as the worst :(

Maybe I would just have to take the performance hit to have the quiet system.

Western Digitals always seem to fair quite well, but I have no idea if they'll drill more of a hole in my head. Performance wise, I'd definitely prefer them.

Then there's the Seagate - supposedly quite good. And I've heard good things about them noise wise.

Maxtors seem to lye in the middle and the ones I've always had in the past have been as noisy as these raptors.
