Which search engine do you use

When I read "favours it's own services" I take that as showing Google maps at the top of the page when searching "maps" or gmail when searching "email" so don't have anything wrong with what they are doing. Why shouldn't a company be able to advertise their own products?

So far I've found Google to have the most useful results list. Bing and Duckduckgo (which would be my preferred option) just don't provide the search results Google does.

It's more than that. They favour sites that promote Google services too. Like having a link to Google+ seems obligatory these days. Also having your business/site registered on Google maps. Basically you need to buy into Google everything, or you lose out to competitors that have.

None of is really a massive problem for users, but it's the thin end of the wedge imo.

The problem is, all the other search engines are ****.

Always google.

Whenever I test Bing or Yahoo, the layout and results are so much worse. Amazed that they still survive.

Google, although recently it is REALLY annoying me because shopping results keep coming back in USD for American stores, despite me using the .co.uk website and keep on telling it my location!

Try DuckDuckGo

This. It's got a very cool feature (called bangs I think) for redirecting to other search engines, e.g. add

!g for google
!gm for google maps
!b for bing
!bm for bing maps
!w for wikipedia
!eb for ebay.com

etc. You can find the ones for the sites you use often to save time searching them.

Google..

I was Yahoo user when I get the internet at my own place in 2000. Something was up with Yahoo for a few days so I swapped to, Google.

iirc correctly didn't some original Google devs leave to make a new SE?
