Hi

I'd like a second montor to go with my Dell 24". Thinking of either a widescreen rotated vertically. Or a 4:3 ratio sitting the normal way. The question is, what size will give me the same screen height as the dell? Can it be done?

Thanks,
Philip

Well a 21" 4:3 is a pretty close match. 12.62" compared to your 12.72" high screen - 2.5mm difference.

A 21.2" 4:3 screen would be an almost perfect match if such a screen exists - less than 0.5mm difference.

As far as ws rotated you will be looking at a 15" ws. If such a thing exists, rotated it will be the exact same height as your 24" screen.

Personally since a 15" screen rotated would only give you 8" of width so I'm not sure how much use you get, I would look for a 21-21.2" 4:3 screen. This will be far more practical and you'll get 16-17" of width.

Also the low res of the 15" screen would drive you up the wall IMO. The 20" 4:3 would be the same res height wise as well: 1200. So even if there was a slight difference in physical height, the res would be the same.

Just done a quick search and you can get quite a few 21.3" screens so that would be my choice
