Which Shredder?

Looking to get a shredder to cut up all the letters etc with details.

Looking to spend £150, 200 max.

If they do staples, cd's its a bonus :).

Any ideas?

Been looking at a Swordfish 2000XCD at around £170-80.

Dont have to spend that, but its for everything.. CD's, Credit Cards, Papers etc.

Does it matter whether or not i said £200 max?

Doesnt mean you cant show me a £50-60 one.
 
Well i have used a few shredders in my time, never this particular one but it seems to do everything you need: (can't link as the manufacturers page offers purchasing) "Fellowes PS-67CS". IMO they are much of a muchness. As long as you don't feed a million sheets into a 7 sheet loader it's not gonna break.

This one does cross-cut confetti shredding, CDs, staples, large bin capacity etc. Its priced at a local UK cataloge shop at about half you maximum budget so should be a possibility.

Again to clarify I havn't used this one but really a shredder is a shredder imo, this is just the one with everything you needed :) All the ones I have used have been basic cheapo ones and they have always done the job too. Hope this helps

We've got a cheap shredder, pretty rubbish you can only shred 10 pages at the time. Would love one where it'll take a whole magazine in one go. I've spent hours shredding and would be so much quicker with a industrial sized unit.
 
I think most shredders only seem to take up to 10. The Fellowes brand website also listed ""industrial"" shredders (from the images these looked exactly like normal home ones, same sort of size styling etc. and not car sized tree eating leviathans :P ) but I didn't check the specs. They might be worth a look at, although i also have no idea on their availability.

Edit for post above: Fellowes do an office one that shreds about 38 pages per pass ;)
 
We have a £80 shredder in work, doesnt crosscut but only improvment is the large bin, go to Tesco's and get a cross cutting shredder for £30
 
I hear that the 120mm Delta fans can also double up as a useful paper/finger/insect and anything else that gets too close shredder... ;)
 
in my experience a shredder is not a a shredder, at work we have tons of paper we need to shred and upto recently we just had cheapo tesco ones (i do have one at home tho and its fine for what i do x-cut, big bin, manages staples 5 sheet feed) work has now invested some money in this hooge ass thing can feed 20 odd sheets etc. and it has saved so much time.

i'll try and find out what brand etc. it is for you but i don't work there anymore so will give a mate a ring to find out.

yeah that looks simlilar to the one at work actually and now i've properly read the original post swordfish rings a bell.

its a diy shop i used to work at (part time) i'm sure it would have been easier to use a wood chipper lol!

that one looks cool with the slide out bin too, its annoying when you have to lift the top off and all the bits that have stuck to the cutting blades go everywhere negating the need for the bin!

is it just for home? i feel now adays you need to take these precautions depending on your job it maybe a necessity to be able to shred CD's too etc. so much valuable info is digitally stored!
