Which silent 580 for a Silverstone FT02

I've got the Noctua NH-U12P in my FT02 along with the Asus GTX580 Direct II CU and it's very quiet even at load.

I've done watercooling in the past myself, I spent hundreds of pounds on it but in the end I went back to high end air cooling as IMO it's just as quiet as even water cooling needs fans to cool the rads so there's really not much in it.

Cool. Did you upgrade the rear 120mm fan on the case by any chance and if so what fan did you get. Thinking of upgrading the rear 120mm but not sure what to get, maybe a noiseblocker 120mm?

I used a Noctua NF-P12 that I had from a previous build. It doesn't push a great amount of air but I've had no problems with the PC overheating and it's quiet so all in all I'm very happy :)

I read on a review that you have to be careful what cooler your gfx card has with that case.
I've been wondering about that. I'm having problems keeping my 4870x2 cool, it has the Accellero cooler on it. Is it these coolers that this review says to avoid?

I've considered putting original cooler back on but it's so noisy that I'd rather stick with the Accellero

its coolers that don't exhaust air out of the rear of case.

I got 3x Gainwards with the stock cooler and they are much more silent than my old 3xMSi GTX 280 with stock cooler... and run cooler (using same case & cooling).

However noise is very subjective, and to me silent pc's are those turned off.

I have the twin frozer 11 580 in my fto2 i can not hear the card at idle, also it dropped the mother board temps for me by 7c,the card itself sits at 28c idle rising to 60c playing witcher 2.

Very happy i chose this card, one thing i have noticed is when playing games the motherboard temps are slightly higher than they were before, must be the excellent frozer cooler doing its job..

Hmm, I think i may try putting the original cooler back one of them (i have 2), at least then I can get an idea whether the Accellero is helping... plus i should be able to fit both of them at the same time, when i bought the second one I had a different case and they ran cool. If they still overheat then if I underclock them, 4 gpu's should be faster than 2 at default clocks shouldn't they?

Oh My God

Put my stock cooler back on my card today and had a play of TF2 with the fan set to 40 and the temp didn't get above 50, with the accelero it was pushing 90 :D

Now all i need is to find stock cooler for my other card!

Im telling you man, the standard heatsinks have had enough money and R+D spent on them to do more than the job required.

I think i only upgraded because of the noise, but with this case it seems i no longer need have the fans running full speed ;)
