Which slots for RAM dimms

i,ve just put another DVD drive in my pc but the cabling is pushing against my corsair dominator dimms, could i move them both over to the channel B slots, my mobo is the asus crosshair so it has four dimm slots, two are marked "channel A" and the other 2 are "channel B". i know dual channel ram must both be in the same channel slots but does it necessarily have to be channel A??
