Which small auto for leaner driver?

Just had a quick check on BCA's website and in CAP Clean condition there is a 1.2L 19 plate Fiat 500 listed with automatic transmission at £7675, probably sell a little over that.
It is BCA Grade 2 so it's a fairly clean car and is in a UK Premium No Quibble auction, money back job if not as stated. That is what you could expect at auction for the budget.

For manual transmission the same price gets you 71 plate and 22 plate vehicles.
The auto model is carring a price premium but it's a popular vehicle in auto and dealers know they can easily sell good clean stock.

The Yaris is probably the ideal car for a new driver. Not too big, not restrictively small (like the Aygo/107/Fiat 500), cheap to run and plentiful on the used market

Hi good folks, my missus has decided she wants to start learning to drive and she's going with an "Automatic Only License". She's had a few lessons and is doing pretty well but she wants to get her own car so she can practice in it.
She's budgeted ~£7K just for the car, what should she be shortlisting for that kind of money?

If you can Id' bump the budget and just go all in for a car that she'll be happy with once passed. Assuming that an EV would work, then you could get something in the £7.5-8.2k range that is around 5 years old.

Pug e-208, Corsa-e, or even an e-Golf (Link) There are many other options as well, its certainly worth considering if you can. :)
