I do not know the answer, just interested.

It cannot be a cover, has to be the original track.

No, as until recently it was copyrighted. That's why they always sing For S/He's A Jolly Good Fellow instead, which is probably the answer to the original question.

Indian cinema produces at least twice as many films a year, and I know there some popular soundtracks that have been reused, so wouldn't be surprised if it was one of those.

My guess is that it would either be a national anthem, or something classical.
The problem in finding out would that whilst music that is under copyright can probably be checked relatively easily by looking at the records of the licencing agencies, for anything that is out of copyright (such as classical music/anthems) you'd need to find every time any version was used.
