just my 2 cents...... imho i would go intel everytime also in the case of this build its cheaper also...
i would change the graphics card out from the intel and get the 7950 and instead of the h100i would get a refurb 100 ... just personal opinion tho

Both will give similar performance in games. I would probably choose the Haswell build with some changes.

If you can stretch the budget i would scrap the MSI board for a better quality board with UK RMA:

I would use an intel stock cooler and pick up an after market cooler later or get the SSD later for the second build, so you can afford a better GPU to go with it.

Thanks for that but problem is a budget is a budget and im trying to get the best for the budget, will be no money down the line to buy extra as this is a 1 time thing for a year or so

I wouldn't spend £100 on CPU cooler in £750 build.

get the £106 Gigabyte Z87 board that comes with free cooler and get HD7970.

that's £75 more for GPU, but £20 less for MB and £100 less for cooler + you can sell the games too.

Silence and max OC is 1 of the main things im after as i like to push things also with the rest of my gear its way over £1000 build to be fair

silence is not an issue with that Prolimatech, but ok, understand the OCing part.

still, makes little sense to OC 4670K like crazy and then pair it with HD7870.

not keen on gigabyte boards tho some look cheap and nasty but the fan and board offer for £100 ish notes is a good offer

I would say the MSI gaming boards look cheaper and that Gigabyte has been holding a better reputation when it comes to motherboards in recent years. The gaming series to me just seems like a 'late to the game' knock off of ROG series (bit like Fatal1ty with Asrock).

better gpu and more headroom on psu for for future upgrades and overclocking, i that matrix was baught when it was on offer it would have been £60 cheaper :)

EDIT: accidently reposted this and i have no idea to delete it

Another if/but, however if you'd asked this just a few days ago over the weekend you'd have gotten the 7970 matrix for £222 and saved £10 on the postage but then the time machine hasn't been invented.
