Would anyone mind if u installed a ground anchor?

Hmm, nice idea. There is a management company who deal with the up keep
of the estate, they may have some to say about it. Luckily my neigbours know I like to park my bike in that spot so usually leave it free for me. So it could be a option. I'm hoping to sell up next year and a property with access to the rear garden with my bike is 1st on the list :D

You could get one of these, but you have to be a bit mental, especially if you go 2 up all the time!!!!;)

I've ben looking at GX9R on ebay, they go for 2k for a nice one, trying to convince the Mrs its a good idea, then track day heaven here i come.

Haha, a bit mental? Bonkers is the correct term :p

And only go 2up when needs must. If I had my way, the bike wouldn't have the option for 2up.

On a serious note, if you shop around, you can grab a 748E for around 2-3k. Great fun!

What's the 748 like for service costs, I'm about to move into a new place that has an alarmed/secured garage with a couple of ground anchors so starting to look at shiny bikes. I keep being drawn to the 748/9 but wondered what running costs are like?

They are not that expensive if you get one that has been looked after! I would say maybe 20% more than your average IL4.

Get one mate, they are perfect fun! Still regretting selling mine :(

Only ridden a 996, and that after jumping off my crappy old thunderace. Felt about 6" wide whereas the ace feels like 2 foot across and the weight/balance is so much better. Can only imagine what the 1098 must be like, but I'm not a big fan of the twin engine. They feel... flat? I dunno. I'm used to the grunt of the Thunderace (its been bored out as well as down geared 2 teeth on front and back) which has a definite power step to it, whereas there was no step at all on the twin. It just felt flat, but the speedo said I was shifting.

I think it'd fear for my license on a 1098! Until I recalibrated my brain I'd be riding around 30mph faster everywhere more than I thought I was doing... Lovely bikes though.
