need to buy a new a SSD, size wise don't need anything bigger than 128GB.

Use is mainly for photo shop, and on occasion a game.

So any recomendations please.

My personal preference is Samsung 830's or Crucial M4's. Have a couple of M4's one in the htpc other in a second rig, with Samsung 830's in the main rig have had no issues with either and performance/relaibility has been rock solid for me.

Also when I was looking for ssd's both came highly rated and people seemed to be having less issues with the onboard controllers.

Samsung 830, Crucial M4, whichever is cheapest really. I love my Samsung drive though wouldn't by anything else after owning one. Going back to a normal HDD is like purgatory can't wait for CPU to come tomorrow.

Personally i've not had A SINGLE issue with a Vertex 3 120gb and i've built 4 rigs with them now.
They are still uber fast and very low priced now.
I did have issues with Agility 2 and Vertex 2, the 60gb versions.

You also won't go wrong with the Intel 520, that would be my preference, but they hold a higher price for sure.

Okay just installed the new Samsung 128GB SSD 830 and my AS SSD benchmark score was 625 so pretty impressed :)

Just bought another Samsung 128GB SSD 830 for my laptop :)
