Hi All

I need a new SSD as im running out of room on my current one (M4 Crucial 128Gb) which i have used as my OS and a few games so i would like another one for just games, i also have a 1TB hard drive that i use for other things like music videos and work related stuff.

the most i really want to spend is around £100 give or take a little i see the Crucial MX100 is on offer this week for £79.99 but it has a read rate of 330 MB/s where as the Samsung 840 Evo has 520 Mb/s, how much real world difference would there be?

Thanks

Sam

no I doubt you'd notice any difference tbh

the evo suffers from degradation over time which isn't fully fixed yet

In games, SSDs do very little to improve performance. You will get faster loading times, but not increased FPS.

The MX100 is as good as any on the market. If you are a regular user, you will not see the difference between an MX100 and, say, a Samsung 850 Pro in real world scenarios.

Another good option is the SanDisk Ultra 2. I've had a lot of their products over the years (Extreme, Extreme 2 Pro, Extreme USB drives), and they have performed flawlessly.
