which ssd?

I want to buy my first ssd but don't know which brand to get. I'm looking at a 250gb one for my os and a couple of games.
How do the cheapest ssd's perform compared to somthing like a samsung 850 evo?

Just buy an 850 Evo. Tried, tested and awesome

If this is your first SSD, it will blow your mind. The first SSD I used was 1/5th the speed of the Evo and still way quicker than anything else I'd used before. Came from a RAID0 of Raptors before that.



SSD is best upgrade you can do to any machine.

i have two of the 850 evos and they are good SSDs

stick with the 850 if your budget allows and you will be happy.

make sure achi is enabled on the SSD before you install windows as doing it after the system may not boot as the default option is normally IDE

what are the numbers we should be looking at? also after my first sdd, between EVO 850 (pro?), or Sandisk ultra II.
