Which version of the Tamron 70-300 is better for Nikon D3200?

Tamron SP 70-300mm f4-5.6 Di VC USD Lens - Nikon AF

Or

Tamron 70-300mm F4/5.6 DI LD Macro (Nikon AF)

The VC is an all round much better lens than the LD Macro, in terms of optical quality (sharpness and general nice images), focusing speed (faster) and noise (quieter), build and it has Tamron's very solid vibration control system which helps in lower light situations.

The 70-300 non-VC will do in a desperate pinch and there aren't particularly great cheap options overall (though I think the Nikon 55-200 would get a more common vote. it's just not very good optically and the focusing motor is shabby at best, while the lack of VC does really hurt the lens's general purpose usage and versatility particularly on a crop sensor lens where camera movement is effectively magnified.

Thanks for the info.

I currently have th following lenses.

18-55mm stock which I may sell.

50mm 1.8g prime lens which is awesome.

And I will buy the tamron 70-300 VC version.

I do portrait and landscape/ sporting photography.

Do you think I should part with the stock lense that came with the camera as I would use the telescopic lens and prime lense more!

First point - A long focal length lens is referred to as telephoto(graphic) rather than telescopic.

You might as well keep the 18-55 as it's not worth a lot of money and is a perfectly capable lens.

That said, it might be worth looking into a 35 1.8G or a 28 1.8G (bit more expensive) to replace the 18-55 at the wide end.
