Hey, ive just finished my firt ever self build and Ive had things running for a hour or two but ive installed 2 programs which monitor my CPU temps and their both giving different results.
The first is Motherboard Monitor 5 which is giving me 31o when idle which is fine but the other which is called Core temp is giving 47-50o per core when idle which is quite worrying..
Im running an E6700 at stock speeds with a Scythe Ninja heatsink+fan in a Lian-Li S80 case. I used Artic Silver 5 on the CPU but I must admit I think it may have been on a tad thick.. but anyway is there anyway to get a 100% accurate reading? I dont want my first ever buidl to result in melt down

Cheers.
