OK, so I have my E6600 @ 3.2GHz with Geil RAM @ 890MHz 4-4-4-12 :D on my P5W-DH (356x9 @ 1.45v BIOS, little less in CPU-Z)

Everest reports CPU temp as circa 39/40C in normal operation, Core Temp says 50-53C normal. Even with a SuperPi 32m run, these temps do not change much - perhaps up to 55C in Core Temp and 42/43C in Everest - and this is all with stock Intel HSF. Ambient case temp seems to be around 35-40C, with mobo reporting 50-52C in Everest and HDDs high 30s....and my Crossfire X1900 setup no doubt chucking a fair bit around !

For me, I am thinking this is pretty darn fine......especially as I have either my trusty Gigabyte G-Power available and a brand new Scythe Ninja Plus on standby (laziness, I am afraid ;)).....but my question is are these temps fine ?? I understand that Everest and Core Temp report differently.....and - if this is the case - what should I consider 'safe' temps ?

I tell you what mate I wish I could get as good temps as that on my E6600 and my P5W.

Im using a arctic freezer 7 pro and antec p180 case, I get 50c idle and 60c load! stock volts at 333fsb - 3ghz.

Dont get it.

It looks like it is my case's lack of airflow, methinks :(

Last night, in a fit a "let's see if this makes a difference", I cracked out a Scythe Ninja Plus I had never opened (ooooh new box fun ;)) and installed it - found it quite easy, by the way, as I had heard it can be tricky on P5WDH  Anyways, with the side off, things looked great at circa 40~odd C in CoreTemp (Everest around 32C) and not much change under (SuperPi 32m, 3DMark01) load.

Now feeling happy :D until....... put the case side back on and all temps back up to more or less where they were

So, sits happily on circa 50C in CoreTemp and 40C Everest.....goes up to the lofty heights of mid-50s under load.......this is all still with 1.45v (in BIOS) 3.2GHz (356x9) and RAM @ 890MHz 4-4-4-12 (2.2v BIOS).....

So I guess these temps are ok then :) Time for more volts......wasn't really sure what to push to.....have played with 3.3GHz and all seems fine, perhaps I can really throw some at the CPU with the Ninja on ?

Worth noting that the motherboard temps have lowered to mid to high 40s now, as opposed to 50~odd with stock hsf....can only be a good thing too !
