they isnt much between them like 1C if anything. Some people have had better results with the silver others the MX.

I have tried both and there was no difference.

I use AS5 but a friend swears by MX-2. MX-2 also doesnt need to burn in like AS5 does - will be trying MX-2 next time i need to order some TIM

I used the mx-2 myself when replacing the heatsink. Just for the fact it was faster with no curing, and should last for years.

MX-2 Thermal Compound-

High Thermal Conductivity
Low Thermal Resistance
Non-Electrical Conductive
Non-Capacitive
Non-Curing
Non-Corrosive
No Bleeding
Odorless
Durability of at least 8 years.

whats the durability of ocz freeze like?

There's no curing time and from what i can make out it stays liquid like and fills the gaps in due time, Am going to give it a try out see whats its like,i had a bad experience with my AMD chip stuck like glue using other TIM and dam near ripped off my pins was a little hot mind:p

INSTRUCS from website
Place a small amount of Freeze (roughly the size of a grain of rice) on the center of the IHS. Lower the CPU cooler directly down onto the CPU to minimize smearing, and push it gently into place. It may appear that only a fraction of the heat spreader has paste installed, the cooler will squeeze the paste out to the appropriate width over time. If necessary, the CPU cooler can be wiggled slightly to facilitate the initial spreading of the thermal compound

MX-2 every time. Have used AS5 as well, and as others have said I've not seen any real difference in temps between the two. Given the lack in temp difference MX-2 wins in my eyes due to it not needing to cure and being non-conductive.

Non-electrically conductive. This means that, if you get it anywhere you shouldn't, it won't cause problems. basically, it's safer than using a paste containing metal particles. BTW, hello to Bristol. I used to live down there. Great city!

MX-2 is usually around 2 degrees lower temps than AS5.
