Non-electrically conductive. This means that, if you get it anywhere you shouldn't, it won't cause problems. basically, it's safer than using a paste containing metal particles. BTW, hello to Bristol. I used to live down there. Great city!

MX-2 is usually around 2 degrees lower temps than AS5.

Cheers m8y,

Looks like i'll get some mx-2! whats the difference in texture then? is it more liquid?

It's a bit thicker than AS5, not runny or syrupy. Arctic Cooling recommend putting a small blob on the heat spreader and letting physics / heatsink pressure do the spreading. This method has always worked well for me.

I have used OCZ Freeze or mx-2... both are very good nothing in it performance wise that I have noticed, both being non conductive means you can't kill anything with them which is always good. As5 is not bad either used it for ages before switching to the two above but its conductive which in the wrong hands can be trouble.

Had good results from arctic ceramique when i used it on my old evga 680i nb/sb chipsets, also non conductive like mx2.

Ive also got a tube of thermalright cf2 that came with my cooler, never bothered using it as i had some as5 left over
