I need a Thunderbolt 5 Docking station for my Macbook Pro.

Looking online a few seem to be mentioned :

Anker Prime TB5
Ugreen Maxidock
Caldigit TS5 or Elemement

Ideally didn't want to spend too much but also don't want to buy again shortly after.

At the moment only 1 5K monitor will be connected to it but want option for a second.

Any recommendations?

I'm a bit wary of Ugreen docks at the moment - normally I really rate their stuff but I've had two of their docks (not the model you mention in fairness) that have been pretty flaky after a couple of months (constant disconnects, powering off etc).

That's a shame, Ugreen are usually pretty good.

Caldigit are the benchmark. But cheap buy twice and all that.

Indeed but £400-500 seems a lot for a dock but I know if I got a cheaper one and it wa sunstable that would annoy me.

From my past experience cheaper docks have constant minor niggles, disconnections, not connecting first time, one screen going off etc etc.

I've got a Caldigit TS4... Wouldn't bother with anything else if buying again.

Tried an Anker dock before this and it went back after 2 days.

Get the Caldigit I say!

I use a Caldigit TS5 with my MBP M5 and two monitors, one 4K and one 5K. I’ve had no issues with it in the three or so months I’ve had it. The price made me think twice (it’s just a docking station after all!) but I don’t regret it. It’s got every port you need. More importantly, it’s rock solid - I don’t have time to figure out why things aren’t working anymore!

Caldigit TS5 running various things from a mac mini. Have a 6k and a 5k monitor connected to the mac via the TS5 and it never misses a beat.
