I currently have a ASROCK board, as it was cheap and at the time served it purpose. Now I've been slowly upgrading my system over the year (yea, very slowly, not a rich man) and finally want to go up a gear. My current board is maxed for OC'ing and wont go any further, etc.
So I'm looking at going SLi next year, and for that I need a SLi board. I've had my eyes on a Striker Extreme for about as long I can remember - which isnt very long, but is probably since it 1st came out!
I'm not too worried about cutting edge latest technology ... I really cant afford it, so was looking at getting the striker extreme for starters as the SE is getting into affordable range @ £150 and will last me well into '08, and most likely '09. Then a 8800 early next year, followed by another for SLi in the summer (and a new PSU for extra wattage). I also have currently have 2 x 160GB drives, and the ASROCK doesnt support RAID, the SE does, so some extra game loading performance gain there.
Is the striker extreme going to be worth it? or is there something else I should look at getting? I can fully justify 150 on a mobo, simply because it the one thing that ties everything else together.
And would 2 8800's fit in my sonata II case?
Ideas and critisism are welcome
