You'll be hard pressed to find anything other than TN panel in 22inches. Those that aren't are rather expensive.

However, a TN panel is great for watching DVD's and playing games.

Unless your really into professional graphic work or need to view your screen from more obscure angles a TN panel will do a great job.

TN's are the worst kind of LCD tech. Poor colours and viewing angles, which is why they are the cheapest. Although they do generally have the fastest response times, but any of the other panel techs will be great for watching films, now that they are in the single digit numbers.

Go for S-PVA or S-IPS if money isn't so much of a problem. Both S-IPS and S-PVA have great colours and better viewing angles than TN, but S-IPS has the very best viewing angles. MVA is roughly about the same as S-PVA but i've never really tested a MVA panel before.

as said above, you will find it hard to find a non TN Film 22" model anyway. Fwiw, S-IPS has it's advantages since viewing angles are very wide. However, black depth is only average, and movie "noise" can be more apparent than on some other techs generally. Dynamic contrast ratio control can be handy for improving movie viewing experience and black depth on the fly. S-PVA offers very good black depths, and wide viewing angles as well. viewing angles are more than adequate for movie viewing. S-PVA tends to be pretty bad for movie noise as well, but P-MVA tends to be a fair bit better in this regard, while still offering comparable performance to S-PVA

So, I'd say S-PVA or P-MVA if you can find it would be best bet for a movie screen.
