I want to install Ubuntu but i am not sure which one i need?

Standard personal computer (x86 architecture, PentiumTM, CeleronTM, AthlonTM, SempronTM)

64bit AMD and Intel computers

I have an AMD 3500 Venice CPU. So which one above should i opt for?

Go for the standard x86, more chance of everything working :)
I concur. Unless you have a pressing need to do so, the 64-bit version is more of a hassle than a benefit. If you have to ask which version to use, you probably will do just fine with the 32-bit version. :)

Will Ubuntu go on the same drive as Vista ok? Anyone done a dual boot with Ubuntu and Vista? I already have Vista on my main drive and want to put Ubuntu on there too. Ta

Yeah, I had that running fine, Ubuntu picks it up OK. The partitioner might require your attention, but they can run on the same drive :)

Either point it at a separate drive, or leave some unpartitioned space on your OS drive. Then just tell Ubuntu to use the unpartitioned space.

Are you putting on 7.04 or 6.10?

7.04 is best! If your willing to put up with having to do a bit of fiddling to get flash working (Its not ubuntu's fault.. abobe didnt release a 64bit flash player!), I would go 64bit. Otherwise, you can stick with 32bit and take the easy route.

7.04 is certainly very impressive - took me about 10 minutes to install it; and a further 15 or so to get Beryl + Emerald going and configured.

It's only a bit of polish away from getting Bill and Steve at Microsoft a real sweat on ;) The only driving reason for me running a XP install at the moment is gaming.
