Which US airline?

Interesting as I flew KLM/Delta (same company) in Feb (LHR - MSP) and both there and back they had full individual IFE and pretty good food (free wine and beers too), they also didn't use a 747 it was a 767. The type of aircraft will depend on the route anyway as far as I'm aware. Leg room was fairly good although not brilliant, luckily we had fairly empty flights there and back so could stretch across loads of seats if we wanted, the air hostesses actually told us to. :)

Will give you more information on the aircraft and what IFE there is.

BA is meant to be brilliant though from what I hear (this could just be BA Club).

BA Club is very nice, although the Club Europe older style isn't that much better than the standard, world is stunning! Unfortunately I'm paying for these titckets so...:(

Guess I need to check the plane I would be flying on if I did go with Delta then and it looks like Atlanta is the hub...

See if you can get an upgrade to their new Economy comfort on the transatlantic leg, it's only $80 but you get a better seat and a little bit more room.

With Delta/KLM? Where do I need to do that, at purchase or at the desk?

I'm looking at Skyscanner which is why I have a fairly specific set of companies, any other websites of use?

Thanks so far for the comments

Some a them Air Stews on US airline could frighten a guy. As for asking for something - sometimes one may think better not to. Though they tend to keep the Stews carved with a blunt axe and looking like a Mother in law from Hell for the domestic routes.

I've flown BA and Delta to the US, both were great.*

*my definition of great is that we didn't nose dive into the sea which is all that really matters to me :p

Your just asking for opinions here:

I personally avoid Delta, AA and United. I would quite happily go with BA (never an issue and good customer service for me). For me it would come down to the more important factors of:

- Direct flight?
- Aircraft type?

Usually the factors above point to BA being the best choice

Delta are always great, and cheap although I have only flown with them about 20 times.

There is is always good legroom, seats are comfy and the meals are fine. The in-flight entertainment is also very good.

But as always it depends which route you are taking and from which airport.

And if anything goes wrong they will always help out.

Last year one of out flights was delayed so we would have missed the connecting flight and had a 24 hour stopover. They put us on virgin Atlantic direct flight back and some of the best seats on the plane. Shame virgin Atlantic are not that great when flying to and from Manchester.

Usually when you check in online.

Thanks, I'll sort that out then.

I ended up going with Delta in the end... BA was just far more expensive and United had two stops rather than just one for most of their flights.

Thanks for all the help!
