Which version of Windows 7 to get?

I'm finally thinking of upgrading to Windows 7 from Windows XP as it's getting old. I want to go 64-bit so I can use more than 4GB of RAM as I may double it up to 8GB soon.

I'm not sure which version to go with though. What are the main differences between Home, Pro and Ultimate? I know it'll probably some advanced features such as IIS, advanced networking/system features, some of which I have used before in Win XP Pro but I would like to here from people who have used either version. Would it also be better to buy OEM instead of retail as it can be significantly cheaper?

Though generally if you aren't sure what version you need, then it is a good indication Home Premium will be more than suitable for your needs.

You should never buy OEM and OEM is not significantly cheaper. Buy Retail.

Home premium unless you are connecting to a domain network or need xp mode.

I guess I should have mentioned that there was a significant difference between the Pro version.

Either way, I'll go with the Home Retail version.
