I have been asked to find a video editor to trim videos. The key thing here is the software needs to be reasonably simple to use. Obviously this takes the likes of Adobe Premiere Pro out of the equation - far too complicated and powerful for such a basic task. I think trimming the beginning and end of videos will be the main purpose, with the possibility of trimming sections during the video.

I am not familiar with video editing software and the machine does not have access to the internet, so the possibility of learning is going to be limited. This is partly why the software needs to be easy to use and learn, as they won't be able to access resources online.

I did think about VirtualDub, but this will probably be overwhelming. What a shame Windows Movie Maker isn't available on Windows 10.

adobe premier is perfect for this. may seem dear but man its so easy to use and it does everything so well.

I use Cyberlink Powerdirector 15. I mainly use it as it's very quick and easy. Trim here, join there, drop a little text in somewhere...

Kdenlive is great on Linux although I've heard it's a little buggy on Windows as it's relatively new there. For Windows (and possibly even Linux now) I'd probably be looking at Davinci Resolve free version for something fairly advanced.
