Im using windows 7 and want to eventually setup a few VM's to have a virtual network on the go to help with studying for my Microsoft Exams.

I'm just not sure which software to use, ive used the microsoft option but heard of virtualbox and vmware. whats the general concesus?

thanks for that, altho is there anything in particular which makes vmware server not "nice"? because i was under the impression vmware was used a lot in business enterprises so would have been a decent piece of software, but thats not the case?

I'm not really a fan of VMware Server either and I don't know about much about Player/Workstation. I use a lot of the enterprise level kit (ESX, now vSphere) at work which is very good stuff

For a level 2 hypervisor (one hat sits on top of an OS): VirtualBox is very good.
