I said oem is a waste of money as retail can be had for the same price 2nd hand,.

I'd say go for OEM Home Premium, but tbh if your laptop already has xp then I would just stick with that. You won't notice enough of an improvement if anything speeds will be down. If you have no OS for it at all however, Vista HP.
