Which VMWare server is the free one now?

The last time I used VMWare server, the free one was version 2. Which is the equivalent nowadays?

I'd like to import a couple of Hyper V test systems into it but the standalone convertor wont importing into anything version 3 or less.

Isnt that bare metal though? Is there one that runs on a Windows host?

VMware Server is EOL now. The only hypervisors which runs on Windows now are VMware Player and Workstation.

I think you need VMWare Player - it installs on a PC just like any other software and you run the VMs inside it.

By the way, how much memory should we have set up? Last one I tried, 4GB is not enough and we will experience slowness.
