Ok so it's sunny, I have my car back and i want to give it the full works, the main reason im going to wax it (never waxed it before). Im thinking about getting the clay bar kit but don't have that much experience with a clay bar, which wax is the best to go for and nice and easy to use which gives great results.

Just got back from Halfords picked up the NXT wax, some turtle wax bug + tar remover which will come in especially handy now after driving home and finding a huge number of dead bug's and picked up some T-CUT to sort out a few hairline scratches. 3 for 2 offer saved me a fiver! :) .

That's the Last time i use the NXT wax, left white streaks everywhere took forever to buff in, just annoying, I'll stick to my Resin Polish

Resin Polish and NXT Tech Wax are totally different products! You don't use either or, Resin Polish is not a substitute for NXT and vice versa.

I know they are, I mean I won't bother waxing in future and just use the Resin Polish. Does anyone know what i mean about white streaking?

So how are you going to seal and protect the paintwork after polishing

Go without or find another product  , the fact it's a spray maybe dosnt help residue went all over the windows etc

No wonder it streaked then you bought the wrong stuff.

The streaking wasnt the thing that bothered me so much, the fact the spray went everywhere and left white spray residue all over the windows which took time to fully clean off etc.

tbh, the fact its a spray is the problem the wax tends to mist off onto the windows etc leaving things fairly messy. Took a while to fully buff in aswell perhaps i used to much?

Maybe too much, its fairly hard to tell to be fair. I didnt put a lot on, maybe 3-4 squirts for a small panel such as the wings, and more for bonnets and roof. I was amazed at how easy it was to get on and off, and like i said, the results were pretty good, although i don't think the wax will last. Have one of the Collinite kits on order with the 476 wax. Will give it a proper going over next week.

How long did you leave the wax before buffing?

Not long at all. It says to wait till it is a haze and then buff off. I did one panel at a time and then within a minute it looked ready to come off. Used a seperate micro-fibre cloth for this.

Yea same i used a Cotton polishing cloth to buff the wax, gone out today and im still finding bits of the dry wax on the car not buffed in fully and white haze still on the car, still will come off whenever it rains or i next clean it

Harly Wax Or Colinite 476S

As per title im in two minds about which of these to choose, whats the general concensous.

hope ya didnt use that t cut you got as itll only give you more minor swirls :)

I had go at using it over a small hairline scratch but didnt notice much difference, seems pretty crap to me, just used resin polish and a good polish seems to work better.

Just ordered;

Eurow 100% Sheepskin Wash/Polish Mitt
Meguiars Quik Clay Detailing System

Just can't decide which wax, how long should i expect the Harly Wax to last and is this the better choice since its no longer Winter and i won't need such protective wax as the Collinite.

Went for the Collinite purely for the fact a tin would last me a whole year possibly longer. Good enough for me look forward to the next wash.
