Well my current pc is 3/4 years old and is:

E6600
Asus P5n32-sli
Cruical ddr2 4300. 4gb
8800gts 640mb
vertex 2e SSD
Samsung F1 750mb
Antec TP750

I play wow(I know..i know) and bad company 2 atm.
Screen is 22" at 1680*1050.
Given the current state of tech do I o/c the core2 and invest is some new memory to do so, something like this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-039-KS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=817

Perhaps a q6600 even?

Assuming I can get q6600 in the region of £100 do I Invest £200 in old tech or spend more but be more up to date?

Part of me says wait for next CPU in 10/12 months time other part says silly to spend money in old tech?

Your board supports up to 800MHz memory officially, you could buy that set, but I doubt it'd run at it's full speed. You could pick up a 2nd hand 4GB kit of 800MHz DDR2 for a bit less though.

I'd suggest sticking with your current CPU and overclocking given that the P5N32 boards are pretty bad for overclocking quad cores.

If you can still play the games you want to play I would say wait. You're not going to get a massively noticeable change unless you rebuild

Sli board, get yourself another 8800gts ? should be able to pick a 2nd hand one up cheap and it is a good boost in games, dont know about WoW though.
