I wasn't surprised to see Firefox winning the poll, but it was a nice surprise to see that Chrome have also trumped the Vole :-) For me, I've been using Firefox since the Mozilla project launched in 2002. I was Netscape before that, went to Mozilla in 2002, skipped Phoenix/Firebird/Firefox, then went straight to Firefox 2 in 2006, then Firefox 3.

I want to like Opera but I just cant, each time I install it (10.5 b2) I uninstall it after getting mad at the lack of features - even though many fans praise its "features"

Why can't it import my Firefox bookmarks WITH spacers as I have them organised instead of without spacers thus making them disorganised?

Why can't I middle click a bookmark and it open in a background tab instead of not opening at all? Why can't I middle click the [HOME] button and it opens my default homepage in a new tab?

Why can't I left click hold a link, drag it a few pixels and it opens in a new tab?

Those are pretty basic features that Firefox has/can have but there's no option for them in the latest Opera and haven't been in any version I've tried.

At least Chrome has a few of those features instead of none.

Idk, never knew there were spacers, you could use folders ;) But lol **** me I just imported my bookmarks, did not realize I ad 450+ :o

Use mouse gestures. Works with the homepage link too. I'm also pretty sure you can configure the middle mouse clicks to do similar using the shortcut editor. Don't get me wrong either, I'm no Opera expert, I only started giving the new beta a try a few days ago.

You just need to look farther than the end of your nose :p

Mouse gestures is still not as convenient as middle clicking a link or simply dragging it!

Opera's Gesture to open in a background window/tab = Right click and hold link then drag the mouse up then down.

Up then down? really? Why not just allow middle click.

It's too inconvenient compared to how easy and quick things are to do in Firefox for me even if Firefox is slower at rendering than Chrome and Opera - Like I said elsewhere, you actually end up doing things faster even if the browser is slower at web surfing due to the extensions and native features,

If you go into the shortcut manager you can change the mouse gestures, so they are exactly like firefox and change middle click to open in new tab in background/foreground ;)

I prefer firefox in general, but as I get to know Opera a bit more and realize it's not as limited as I first thought my love of firefox is dwindling.

At Home:
Opera (most)
Chrome
IE8 (least)

At Work:
FF3 (most)
IE7/8
Chrome
Opera
Safari (least)

Everything Ive just read there seems extremely nit picky and very very specific to your needs.

I dare bet that 99% of users would never even know Firefox did that let alone Opera didn't. Hell I'm one of em and I'd consider myself fairly well versed in the browser genre.

I just find that whole experience of Opera better, the 2 deal breakers for me are simply how smooth it scrolls as standard its so much easier on the
eye and in-built speed dial page.

only Firefox as my master browser all way - didnt use IE8 (sometime using IE8 64bits not not very much) and I may try the new Opera 10.50 when it come out in final release - still Fx 3.6 is my master browser cos it much easier with all features,etc..

Are we looking at the same poll? The version at the top of the page I'm looking at has IE with more votes than Chrome.

So to echo your style of post, it's good to see that despite a recent multi million pound advertising campaign, and the pro/enthusiast nature of the people around here Microsoft still trumps Google for Internet browsing technology. :p
