Not sure this the correct section for this, but I am thinking of upgrading to windows 11. I am wondering what impact it will have on gaming?

I heard that Thier is issues with some anti cheat?

Does it effect counterstrike 2 Or pubg?

Does it prefer better on worse with Ryzen CPUs?

I'm on 5800x3d & 9070XT.

Pretty sure Windows 11 has optimized code for the 3D cache. Windows 10 doesn't.

I'm not sure about optimised code for 3D cache but 11 has significant improvements for core parking relevant to the CPUs like the 79xx/99xx X3D and on the Intel side management of E cores and an improved thread director. There are some security related features on 10 which can hold back AMD CPUs compared to 11 but that is a case by case basis.

There are some complications with anti-cheat still with 11 which may get worse in future updates as MS is locking down inner kernel ring access but an upcoming update should also fix existing issues.

Moved from 10 to 11 around a year ago, I can’t tell any difference performance wise in the games I play, fallout 76, cs go2, dead island 2 , far cry 6 and dying light 2 have all worked flawlessly for me among others.

I am still on 10. No reason to upgrade, my PC works flawlessly right now so the upgrade can only bring problems. And I really do not want to do a fresh reinstall considering my 100+ installed apps and games.

Windows 11 no problems. I do want to try Bazzite though so I might try a dual boot.

11, my snowball mic does not work with it, neither does my printer, which I rarely use on that pc luckily.

It's been ok for games, no discernable difference from 10 for me.

Aren't they discontinuing support for security patches/fixes soon unless you pay for some subscription? Or did that turn out to be lies/scaremongering?

Support ends in October for Security updates. At the rate issues are found, I wouldn't be risking Win 10 with no updates.

Been on 11 since release, don't get why people get hung up on wanting to stay on 10, likely in the same pool of people who still think using Windows 7 on the internet as a daily driver is ok.

11 with the windows 11 debloat script to remove just about everything that is annoying + windows 7 start back is where I have ended up.

Win 11 but all updates paused , then every couple of months i have to literally go a research what is not broken before i allow it update such is the state of MS these days.
